Transport Setup
This paragraph describes all setup needed to make use of the functionalities for the SmartTrade Transport Module.
Transport Setup
Use the Tell me what you want to do function (Ctrl + Q) searching for SmartTrade Transport Setup and click related link.
On the SmartTrade Transport Setup you can set default entry points for Sea and Air transportation. In the URL Shipment Tracking IMO field you can setup the default URL to track vessels over the world. This can be used from several places within SmartTrade to track containers you have goods shipped in.
On the Reporting tab you can set the report id's to be used for several lay-outs CMR Container, Transport Notification, Clearance documents, etc.
Container/Pallet/Transport
Use the Tell me what you want to do function (Ctrl + Q) searching for SmartTrade Container/Pallet/Transport and click related link. This list contains the masterdata for each storage type you may use within the SmartTrade Transport module.
Click New to create a new record and enter a Code and Description, choose a type in the Container/Pallet/Transport field. Options for this field are:
- Container
- Pallet
- Ship
- Truck
Most important fields that can be entered (not required) are Length(mtr), Width(mtr), Height(mtr) and Content (M3). These are used to determine which content will fit.
Other additional information can be entered like which temperatures it can stand and in case of a Ship the number of compartments.
Content per Type
From the item card you can start the Content per Type option via Actions > SmartTrade > Setup > Quantities per Pallet/Container.
The SmartTrade Content per Type list is filtered automatically on the selected item no.. Select the Item Unit of Measure and enter the Maximum Quantity (Base) field. It is important to setup multiple lines if multiple Item Unit of Measures exist for this item. The system always uses the combination of Pallet/Container and Unit of Measure.
For loose stacked containers or pallets you are able to just enter the Quantity per Layer, Number of Layers and Number of Stacks field to calculate the Maximum Quantity field.
The records on this table are used to calculate the amount of pallets/containers on Purchase / Sales Documents and Cost Calculations.
Item Unit of Measure
From the item card or list navigate to Related > Item > Unit of Measures to open the items unit of measure list. This default Business Central list has been extended with some additional fields which are used to calculate the total weight, cubage, etc. for a document or container/pallet. This way SmartTrade can calculated the number of pallets or containers for a document.
Important are Height, Width and Length fields to calculate Cubage and Weight and Gross Weight.
The Weight Unit of Measure field contains the unit these weight fields need to be entered (Kg / Gr).

Routes
To find the SmartTrade Routes used in the process use the Tell me what you want to do function (Ctrl + Q) searching for SmartTrade Routes and click related link.
Press New to create a new record and select a Country code and enter a Route code (usually international codes) and a Description to easily find the correct Route.
