Reporting Setup
This paragraph explains how to setup and work with the SmartTrade Reporting Module. This module allows you to interact with the SmartTrade Extended Text module and use Extended Texts on your document lay-outs.
This module also enables you to repeat frequently used labels on document lay-outs for multiple lay-outs by setting them up once and give you more possibilities using Logo's and Banners on your lay-outs.
Report Labels
When are designing document lay-outs like invoice, order confirmation, etc. you most likely come across labels (translations) you need you re-enter on every lay-out. Examples like 'Item No.', 'Description', 'Price', etc. are most common.
Use the Tell me what you want to do function (Ctrl + Q) searching for SmartTrade Report Labels and click related link. To create a new label presse New and enter No. Name and Description.
From the SmartTrade Report Labels page select the label and click Translation to enter translations for this label into the used document lay-out languages.
From the SmartTrade Report Labels page Press Copy translations to all reports to copy all translations for that label to all related reports. Next section describes how to relate reports to these labels.
Report Label Relations
To make use of above created labels you need to related the labels to the used document lay-outs. To do so use the Tell me what you want to do function (Ctrl + Q) searching for SmartTrade Report Label Relations and click related link.
You may press the Add sales/purchase documents option to select one or more reports or select/enter the report number under the Report ID column. Select the label you want to add for this report ID from the list.
After the Copy translations to all reports function from previous section has been used all default translations will be present for this Report ID and selected label. You are able to modify a label translation for a specific report id by clicking the Translation option but the general idea is to use same labels on every lay-out to reach consistency.
Note
You can only relate report labels to customized report within the customers object range. The list to select reports is filtered on this range.
All lay-outs need to be specially prepared for using the SmartTrade labels.
Report Settings
With Report Settings you are able to setup different footer texts and header/footer logo's per report and language.
Use the Tell me what you want to do function (Ctrl + Q) searching for SmartTrade Report Settings and click related link.
Press New to create a new record and select the Report ID and Language code. 3 Footer text fields of each 250 characters are available to wright a specific Footer text for this report in the chosen language. Within these footer texts you may want use variable like %1, %2, etc. You are able to use 8 variables for information from the Company Information table. These fields can be setup under the Footer tab.
Most common footer variable are Company Name and Address details or Bank details.
Report Logo
Instead of using the Footer text fields you may want to use a Header and/or Footer banner. On the right of the SmartTrade report logo card page you will find the SmartTrade Report Logo factbox from which you can select a picture representing the Report Header or -Footer.
Report email settings
Last you are able to select an Extended text code as an Email subject text and/or Report email body under the Email settings tab. This will be used when the document is send by email.

All lay-outs need to be specially prepared for using the SmartTrade Report Settings and/or Logo functionality
Report Selection
The SmartTrade Reporting module enables you to make use of the Extended Text codes as Header, Footer and/or Bottom text. More information about the SmartTrade Extended Text module you will find via the Links section at the bottom of this page.
Use the Tell me what you want to do function (Ctrl + Q) searching for Report Selection Sales, -Purchase or Reminder/Finance Charge and click related link. In here you will find the reports used in the process e.g. to print invoices, order confirmations, etc.. More information about this you will find via the Links section at the bottom of this page.
On this Report Selection page you will find 4 additional fields:
- Report bottom text code
Select the Extended text code which will be used on the bottom of the document lay-out - Report footer text code
Select the Extended text code which will be used on the footer (directly under the lines section) of the document lay-out - Report header text code
Select the Extended text code which will be used on the header (containing company information like address details, phone, email) of the document lay-out - Report email body
Select the Extended text code which will be used in the body of the message when the report is send by email
