Credit Limit

In this chapter we describe how to make use of the advanced Credit Limits within SmartTrade.

Credit Limit Setup

By default Business Central functionality the Credit Limit (LCY) field on the customer card can contain one amount. With the SmartTrade Credit Limit functionality you are able to store multiple credit limit amounts based on different reasons with different starting dates.

To work with the Extended Credit Limit functionality first visit the Customer card by using the Tell me what you want to do function (Ctrl + Q) searching for Customers and click related link.

On the Customer list select a customer and navigate to Actions > SmartTrade > Setup > Customer credit limits.
On the SmartTrade Customer Credit Limit Lines page select the Internal / External type and enter a Description. You may enter a Reason Code, Date and select a Contact from the Contact list to turn to in case of questions/problems.

At last enter the Credit Limit Amount (LCY) and click the Active field when this line already should be active. When closing this SmartTrade Customer Credit Limit Lines page you will be asked if want to change the customer limit from the old value to the new value. This new value contains the total of all Active Credit Limit Lines.

 

Credit Limit Process

Since the SmartTrade Credit Limit functionality only extends the way how the Customer Credit Limit Amount is calculated, it does not change the standard Business Central proces.
